May 5: Boston Pilgrim Cy Young tosses a 3-0 prefect game against Rube Waddell and the A's.
May 14: Cubs outfielder Jack McCarthy sprains an ankle by stepping on the umpire's broom at home plate. NL President Pulliam orders the use of small pocket sized brooms for the housekeeping of home plate.
May 30: The Cubs Frank Chance is clunked 5 times by Reds pitchers in a twin bill.
September 30: White Sox southpaw Doc White shuts out the Highlanders. It his his 5th shuout in 18 days and his 6th in the month of September. On the year he had 7 shutouts.
October 7:
George Stovall hits his FIRST home run off his older brother Jesse who is playing his last game with Detroit. This marks the FIRST time one brother gives up a homer to another. This won't happen again until 1933.
